With the first month already over for the New Year, things are in full swing here at Activate. We are extremely excited about this year, and we believe that the Lord is giving us much vision for it. The word that catches our vision for this year is Uprising.

We want this generation of students to rise up and take ground for Christ and His Kingdom. We want them to make a stand in their homes, schools, churches, and communities. We want students to rise above the status quo of our culture. We want an Uprising.

With this vision, the Lord has directed us to some exciting opportunities:

Friday Night Street Witnessing

Starting on February 3rd, we are no longer having our Activate Friday service. Instead of having a service that is similar to Activate Wednesday, we are going to have SWAT on the streets, where all students can come out to share their faith at a local city hotspot. We will meet on Friday’s at 6pm in the Loft. The night will begin with worship, a message to equip you, prayer, and then we will take the Harvest bus to the location where we will be street witnessing. Never been witnessing before? That’s ok! We will provide all the training you need—both in the classroom and on the street. Come on out and learn how to share and defend your faith! All you need to do is bring a permission slip (if you are under 18) and a heart for the lost.Follow SWAT on twitter at www.twitter.com/GoSWAT and check out this video HERE.

Activate Events

On the last Friday of every month, we are going to have a special night that focuses on fun and fellowship. Whether it’s having a bon fire at the beach, playing broomball at the ice rink, or having our annual Costume Party and Christmas Dinner, these special events and activities will be a great way to both start and strengthen friendships. Our first Activate Friday Event will take place on February 24. It will be a great time, so bring a friend and come hang out!

Since our vision for this year is for students to rise up, we thought it would be fitting for Winter Camp to be themed Uprising. In order to encourage students to rise up and be a godly generation, we will spend time in the Word with gifted teachers such as Pastor Ben Courson and Pastor Garid Beeler, and have powerful times of worship with our guest artist Leeland. And of course, we will have plenty of fellowship and fun up in the snow as students make new friends and are mentored by their college-aged camp counselors. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to go to Winter Camp. You will not regret it! Here is the information you need to know:

  • When: February 17-19, 2012
  • Where: Calvary Chapel Christian Camp (32355 Green Valley Lake Rd. Green Valley Lake, CA 92341)
  • Cost: $135
  • Fundraisers: We have several ways that your student can raise money for camp. They can sign-up to sell candy, do drink sales on Sunday morning, and sell carwash tickets. Please see us at the info booth after one of our services or CLICK HERE for more information.
  • Sign-ups: Please sign-up at the info booth at any of our services, or on Sunday at our table on the patio. You can also sign-up online by CLICKING HERE

As the ministry staff, we realize that if we want students to rise up, we must first bow down, and humbly ask God to do a great work at Activate. We are praying that lives will be changed, faith will be strengthened, relationships will be built, and for God to be glorified. Will you be a part of the Uprising?

As always, we want to make ourselves available to you. If you have any questions or needs, we would love to talk or meet with you. Please contact us at 951.687.6902, or e-mail us:
